Itinerary

Day 1: Nairobi – Masai Mara (Lamek Conservancy)

On arrival at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, your safari guide will warmly welcome you and drive you through the Great Rift Valley to the world-famous Masai Mara. You will check in at Mara River Lodge, located in the private Lamek Conservancy, offering a tranquil setting away from the crowds. After lunch, enjoy your first afternoon game drive in Lamek Conservancy, where wildlife viewing is intimate and less disturbed. Expect to encounter elephants, giraffes, lions, and plains game as the sun sets over the savannah.

Dinner and overnight at Mara River Lodge.

Day 2: Musiara & Sekenani Sectors

Today is dedicated to exploring the Musiara sector, one of the most iconic parts of the Masai Mara. This area is world-renowned for being home to the Musiara pride, the largest and most studied lion pride in the reserve. Spend time along the Mara River stretch where wildebeest crossings take place at famous points such as Main Crossing, Kichwa Tembo, Kaburu, and Serena Crossing. Here you have the best chance of witnessing dramatic predator-prey interactions. In the afternoon, head further south to the Sekenani sector, known for its rolling plains and wide herds of wildebeest and zebra during migration. This is also prime territory for cheetah and other big cats.

Dinner and overnight at Mara River Lodge.

Day 3: Mara Triangle

Cross to the Mara Triangle, the sector west of the river, which is managed separately from the main reserve. Its exclusivity ensures fewer vehicles and more authentic encounters. The swampy vegetation and lush grasslands of the Triangle support massive herds of herbivores, followed closely by predators. With access to all major river crossing points, this area offers the best chance of experiencing the wildebeest crossing in full action. Enjoy a picnic lunch in the wild and continue with game drives until evening.

Dinner and overnight at Mara River Lodge.

Day 4: Morning Game Drive & Return to Nairobi

OAfter an early breakfast, head out for a morning game drive in Lamek Conservancy for a final chance to spot wildlife before bidding farewell to the Mara. You will then be transferred back to Nairobi, arriving in time for your onward flight.
