You will stay at Mara Serena Safari Lodge overlooking the Mara River crossing point and Gnu Migration Camp in Kogatende near major crossing points including Makutano. Explore upstream crossings from Lookout Hill to Kichwa Tembo in the Mara Triangle, and follow the herds across the northern Serengeti from Crossing Point 5 upwards. Itinerary

Day 1: Nairobi – Masai Mara Triangle

Depart Nairobi early morning and drive to the Mara Triangle, arriving at Mara Serena Safari Lodge for lunch with sweeping views of the Mara River. In the afternoon, enjoy your first game drive in this less-crowded sector, offering an intimate introduction to the migration herds and predators of the Mara.

Day 2: Full Day in Mara Triangle

Spend the day tracking wildebeest along the upstream riverbanks from Lookout Hill to Kichwa Tembo. With a picnic lunch in the wild, witness herds gathering at the riverbanks and plunging into crocodile-infested waters. The Mara Triangle’s seclusion provides a more authentic and immersive migration experience.

Day 3: Masai Mara – Serengeti via Isebania

After a morning game drive, depart south to the Isebania border crossing. Meet your Tanzanian guide and enjoy an en-route game drive into the northern Serengeti, arriving at Gnu Migration Camp in Kogatende in the evening, perfectly positioned near key river crossings including the famous Makutano Crossing.

Day 4: Full Day in Northern Serengeti (Kogatende)

Explore multiple migration crossing points from Point 5 upwards on full-day game drives. Witness dramatic river crossings, predators in action, and the sheer scale of the migration. Kogatende’s open plains and strategic location offer unparalleled wildlife and photography opportunities.

Day 5: Serengeti – Arusha (Departure)

Enjoy a morning game drive in Kogatende before transferring to the airstrip for your flight to Arusha Airport or road transfer for onward travel, concluding your unforgettable safari at the heart of the Great Migration.
